FAQs

Where is BlizzCon 2022 and how do I get there?

This year, BlizzCon will be just a few minutes north of Columbus at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Delaware, Ohio. As always, we’ll post signs in and around the fairgrounds to help you find your way. Get directions here.

What time does registration open and what’s the deadline for contest entries?

Registration opens at 9am (no early birds) and closes promptly at 12pm.

I’m a vendor. What time can I start setting up my table?

We’re happy to have you. Doors open at 7am for vendors. Download our Vendor Table Registration form.

Can I bring a friend/spouse/kid for free?

General admission is $5 and kids under 12 are free. If you’re entering the contest, you’ll only pay your entry fee(s) — there is no additional admission fee.

Where do I park?

Parking is free and plentiful. Please park in the general parking lot.

Is there handicap parking and is BlizzCon handicap accessible?

Handicap parking should be available and the venue is handicap accessible. To be sure, however, please contact the Delaware County Fairgrounds office at 740-362-3851

Are pets allowed?

Only service animals are permitted.

Is smoking allowed?

Sorry, we do not allow smoking of any kind in order to protect the venue and out of respect for our guests. Smoking includes cigarettes, cigars, and e-cigarettes.

Is food available on site?

While we won’t have a food vendor or food cart, Delaware, Ohio has lots of great fast, quick-service, and fine-dining restaurants within a very short distance. In addition to your phone or GPS, check out Dining in Delaware — but be sure to confirm hours, etc. because things have changed a lot since the pandemic.

Do I have to be an IPMS member to enter the contest?

We’d love to have you as a chapter and national member, membership is not required to enter the contest.

What if I forget to pick up my model(s) after the contest?

Yikes! Don’t do that. Neither IPMS Columbus nor our vendors are responsible for ensuring the safe return of your model. All models left behind will be disposed of.

How is the contest judged — and what can I do to improve my chance of winning?

IPMS/USA’s modeler’s guide provides a good overview of our judging process. All judges’ decisions are final. Any attempts to influence judges will result in immediate disqualification of all the contestant’s entries. Find BlizzCon contest rules here.

What time is judging over?

Judging takes time and is dependent upon the number of available judges. The contest room will be closed at precisely 12pm for judging. We expect judging to be completed at approximately 3:30pm. While you wait, we encourage you to shop our vendors and grab a bite to eat in town.

How do I know which category to enter?

Taking a look at our BlizzCon contest categories list should help. If you’re still not sure, IPMS Columbus club members will be available at Registration to help determine proper entry categories.

Is there first-aid for me or my model?

We recommend that you bring your own fixes for you and your model. Pack a small repair kit that includes bandages, pain relievers, cough drops, as well as superglue, cotton swabs, and the like.
